I am a Jazz Guitarist from Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
Currently I work teaching guitar in schools and playing in my jazz septet "Alter Ego". We have had many 'Jazz Action' gigs and we also opened the Sage International Jazz Festival.
Previous work includes my guitar trio "Triad", many gigs and a UK tour with "Carole Clegg and Speakeasy" with Digby Fairweather as a special guest. Also I played in a Zappa tribute band and got to meet Jimmy Carl Black.
Other gigs include the regular friday "Safe Sextet" group ran by Don Forbes (tpt/arr) at the Jazz Cafe Newcastle, and also as a "dep" guitarist for the Customs House Big Band.
Solo and Duet gigs include Newcastle Theater Royal, Marmalades restaurant (Scarborough), The Cherry Tree restaurant in Jesmond and various other venues locally.
I hold both grade8 'rockschool' and grade8 classical guitar (Trinity College London), and am a self taught transcriber and composer.
